Move to Europe

Man-bags are okay in Europe, well most parts of mainland Europe. They are used by men of every presuasion or orientation; no one cares whether you carry one. Solution is to move to Europe. ;-)

You silly goose, of course your sexual orientation will be challenged. But think about how fabulous you'll look while it happens!

Seriously though, I've never cared one whit about people who want to define me according to their terms.

Is this a purse or something a guy can carry without having his sexual orientation challenged?

Love my Circa Modular System

Just an informal "review" of Renaissance Arts' Circa Modular System....I got the Classic Size and I really have no words for how wonderful it is.I get stopped all the time when people see it and questioned about where I got it. I often ride my bike to work so I just sling it across my chest. There is room for my PDA, glasses, cellphone, pen, wallet, school keys, personal keys, hair pick, and a change purse. I am in a time of my life where I am transitioning from being a grad student to full employment so I am constantly taking notes everywhere I seem to land, so having the notebook handy as a capture device is essential to me. I then refile the pages into the proper notebooks when I get home for the various classes I will teach in September. The workpersonship is astounding. This bag will last forever. I can see that the leather will age and become one of those unique items that has stories to tell. I travel as much as I can and it will be going places with me!

Sure...it was expensive, but it was worth every penny (Sell your old stuff on eBay!)to have a highly functional, unique heirloom that the next generation can carry around as a memory of you and your adventures!!

Sporter,

I have not written a review of this yet. But I can do that if there's interest. My product is a review copy and is slightly different than the production models.

leather

We use a full grain 5.5 - 6 ounce oil tanned cowhide which has pullup. For some things, like the Cahier covers, we split the leather to about 1/2 that thickness and use the top grain. We never use the split side.

We are working on a brand new newsletter and so that is the delay. Sorry about the tease. It was just something we finished that day... sort of an accident. I will be photographing it on Thursday or Friday.

Arthur, just so you know, it's not really nice to tease us with things like the MoFolio and then not immediately provide pictures. :)

Is your mailing list very quiet or did I not get added to the list? I signed up with both my work and personal address awhile back but I have never gotten a message. You should be hyping up these new products on it!

i'm not sure, but from what

i'm not sure, but from what i've seen while product testing, it'll take a beating, scratching, and cutting. :)

his website has this to say:

Leather: The thickness of leather is measured by its weight in ounces. For example, belt leather will range from 7or 8 ounces to 10 ounces (if it is very thick) and has a very stiff temper. The leather on your sofa or car seat is about 3-3-1/2 ounces with a very soft temper. The leather we use for our book covers is about 5-5-1/2 ounces with a soft temper. It has some pebble grain to it and a wonderful pull up effect. Pull up is the slight discoloration you get when you bend the leather, which gives the leather cover a wonderful rustic look over time and contributes to its depth and character. A little rubbing will take out any scratches and restore the leather to its original state. Our preference with our own personal books, however, is to leave all those character-building traits in the leather.

what grade of leather do they use? the lesser Top grain or the better Full grain?

---
Levenger stole ALL of my money, but they left me all these nice, shiny organizational tools.

they are done

They ARE all done. I am just photographing them and building the product pages at the moment. We did manage to come up with another style also while working on another new line of stuff. And, we finally figured out how to put a tasteful looking pen loop onto the traditional moleskine cover, calling it the MoFolio.

You guys are going to love

You guys are going to love the circa modular kit. It's sooo kewl. *squee* Arthur sent me one to beta test. I'm constantly surprised at the quality and innovation Renaissance Art does to make these products real.

I feel like i'm toting around a one of a kind, made for me, bag that finally allows me to carry all my artistic goals by my side.

I'm afraid, alceria, it means that not only your pocketbook, along with mine, will prolly either love us for the attention we'll give them or hate us for being abused.
