Tip for using Wordle

Just read this on another listserv and thought I'd share.

If you put a ~ (tilde) between words, the wordle software will keep the words together allowing you to deal with phrases and not just individual words....

I like the ability to deal in phrases rather than individual words very much.
If you check out the advanced features of WORDLE, you can actually take complete control of the sizes you want everything to be, but with the tilde feature, you only need to cut and paste a text and then insert tildes as appropriate.

yeah, i can put this in the image gallery. (edited to add, well, i'd PUT it there but now the image doesn't display. i guess they have time sensitive wordles?)

I think that should somehow be incorporated in our site here....... Could that be put in the image gallery? It would make a great hipster cover!! :) Nice job Ygor!

Create Word Art with Wordle

I was reading Neil Gaiman's blog today and came across this interesting link. Someone had taken some of his prose (the infamous "I Believe" passage from American Gods) and rendered it in Wordle.

It's a word-art site where you feed it passages of text and it spits it out in a mind map sort of visual-word poetry/art. You can create your own account, upload all sorts of interesting passages, see how the site creates renders of what you add and share it with others.

I'm making all sorts of word art with it to use as covers for my journals, greeting card covers and just fun background image art.
