National Stationery Week & World Stationery Day

Apparently, at least in Britain, they have these two observances:
National Stationery Week: April 27th - May 3rd 2015

World Stationery Day: Wednesday, April 29th 2015

Not entirely sure what great significance is there to such observances, but I figure this is the site for such things.

Was going to share a link, but most links seem commercial in nature, so I will let people google for more information about this.

They tried a Stationery Day in the US once...

but the effort remained at a stand still.

Really in Britain?

Being in based Britain both of those observances passed me by!

This should be worldwide!

I am surprised that OfficeWorks or Staples Australia hasn't jumped on this bandwagon.
I would love to see a resurgence in "proper" stationery.
I work in an office with a couple of mutual stationery nuts and we frequently have show & tell sessions when we find something new :) Stationery Day would be an excuse for the baker amongst us to bring cake ...

I'm putting it in my diary for next year!
