Employed again...allllright!

So after just over a month of job searching - and a lot of fustration and dead-ends - I found myself at two interviews this week.

My goal in life is to have a job that I am happy at... I would rather make less money and enjoy what I do then be rich and miserable. I think many people lose site of what is really important in life. I would rather smile myself silly and be happy to wake up in the morning than be in a horrible job and dread it daily. I experienced that before and lost myself ... it was a fight to get me back - and I won't let go again.

The great news is that the "working interview" yesterday at a doggy-day-care went so well that last night I recieved a phone call with the job offer.

I will be starting monday :D ! Its not everything I had hoped for financially (no benefits either) but it is something that I will enjoy... spending my day with animals (small dogs).

Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement. and as always... if you ever need any graphics work done ;P you know who to call ...hehhehe.

ps... the interview today went well also - but I wont hear back about that until next week Thurs or Fri. It would be a part-time graphics position at a local magazine/free newspaper place. :) I will be able to work the full time job around that schedule if needed :happydances: I already inquired.

You go girl!

Congrats!
You're totally right about the enjoyment factor. Much better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable...well, maybe not poor...but you get the picture :-)
And as to the benefits - there are major bennies to getting to hang out with pups all day. Not to mention that all your critters are sure to have a meal on the table now.
Hope the other job comes through, too.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!1

Wow, I was sure I had said it already in my last post, but I guess not. :(

Congratulations on getting a job, and especially one that you're happy to be doing. Good luck on the second position too, although if you get it I pity all of the local residents who will be wondering what all the plastic rings are that bind their newspapers together.

bc

congrats!

Sara,
I'm so happy you found a job! Do you get to play with the dogs and take them for walks and all that fun stuff?

daycare

I will be running around entertaining and watching the pups for 3 hours in the morning... then helping them get lunch and ready for nap time - they even get a blankie in their kennels! - then in the afternoon they get another play time. If the weather is nice the pups go outside into a designated "small dog / puppy" play area with lots of toys... My other duties will be scoopin poop, breaking up scuffles, serving as a tennis ball launcher, and cleaning while the pups are having their nap time. :)

during play time at my working interview, a lot of the lil pups wanted to cuddle :D this is going to be so much fun...

While (like Life) few jobs are ever 'perfect', don't lose that attitude towards your career choices. And remember that we are at least able to choose our reactions and attitudes towards any situation! While we certainly have to make some job choices based on money or perhaps family considerations, if we our choices are solely driven by money or prestige -- then we may just find ourselves holding that (and nothing else) in the end.

Congratulations!
