Bookslings - Love them!

I ordered both sizes of the booksling a couple weeks back and I've been meaning to take pictures and post about them.

These things are great! It's a similar idea to levenger's writer's book bungee, except the pen slots are designed to be on the edge, which makes the books stackable - a nice feature.

I personally have little need for the large ribbon bookmark since there's one in my moleskine to begin with (and I never use that one either), but I like to leave mine outside the book so I can easily differentiate my moleskine from my boyfriends. I bought these mainly for my writing/art journals, not for books I'm reading, so I'm sure for some people the ribbons will be more handy.

The kicker to me was the mini size. It perfectly fits a circa pda! Finally I have a solution for keeping a pen with my cPDA w/o using a case. (Not that I don't want a case, mind you, I'm just still on the fence on which one I want.) You can either put the whole band around the cPDA to keep it securely closed, or just put it on the cover - it's snug enough to stay put. It also will fit standard 3x5 cards, naturally. The mini doesn't have a ribbon bookmark, which I think is good, because it would only be in the way.

The mini size does come with a plastic mini pen. It's a nice touch, but the pen is just ok. I switched the regular pen out for a compact ballpoint.

Here are my flickr photos of the bookslings if anyone is interested.

My b/f and I were planning on making something similar to this using elastic from a craft store. But honestly, for a couple bucks, you can't go wrong. Every time I attempt to make something like this myself, I usually come home from the store with $35 in materials for the project and $40 in extraneous stuff I saw while I was there. So yeah, you could make it yourself, but the price isn't bad. :)

Book Bungee @ OfficeMax

I found a new Book Bungee or band at OfficeMax today for $3.29. I think it would be great on a notebook to hold it closed and to hold your pen/pencil! I took a picture of it and posted on Flickr in the DIYPlanner Group!

Would it fit a classic size

Would it fit a classic size planner?

classic size?

I don't think so. It came with 4X6 index cards and is really tight on those. I think that is all the bigger it is going to stretch...
