My Experience with Renaissance Art

After wracking my brain over what to get my father-in-law for his birthday, I finally happened upon the Cigar Journal at Renaissance Art.

I asked my husband whether FIL would like something like this and hub was enthusiastic.

So I ordered the book on Tuesday (the 8th).

It was personalized (name and date on the title page), bound and shipped on Wednesday the 9th. It arrived at my house yesterday (yes, that's right, less than 48 hours from order to delivery!), a day before promised. I did order 2nd day shipping as it's already a belated gift.

I opened it up yesterday and was just instantly taken by the craftsmanship and especially the beauty and quality of the paper and endpapers.

I didn't have time to show it to my husband as we had to get to the hockey game last night (though we might as well not have bothered, my team got smooshed).

Tonight I showed it to him ... while he was enjoying his after-work cigar and martini. He was very impressed. There was fondling, fawning and even a mite of envy ("I want one of these!"). I can't wait to give it to my FIL - we're taking my in-laws out for a combined birthday dinner this weekend.

I even got the fabric pouch that will coordinate with my FIL's classic Chevy.

Thanks Arthur. I'm so glad I decided to order the journal. I know my FIL will enjoy it.

He loved it - I'm pretty sure

My FIL is not the most demonstrative guy in the world, but I think he really liked it. My MIL thought it was great, and she really liked the cultured marble vase I got her for her birthday.
