Did anyone else see this?

I was looking at Levenger's website this morning and saw they have some new things listed. (They have some GORGEOUS new pens, but that isn't related to my question.) I swear I saw a new Circa notebook and refills listed with no pictures showing for either. They were a Circa steno pad and refills. They had disappeared off the website within a couple of hours.

I thought maybe they were in the process of adding them and they'd be available later today, but apparently not. Has anyone heard that Levenger is adding steno pads? Was it just a figment of my imagination?

Those new pens

I'm torn about the new Carnaval pens. They're certainly reminiscent of confetti colors, which I like, but at the same time when I look at them I think "cartoony".

Plus, the spelling irks me. :D

Yes, the spelling irks me, too,

but I'm a fool for red and bright jewel tones!

Circa Steno?

Wow, that would be so cool if they did carry steno pads. I adore taking notes on the go with my stenos but they seem to not have the same style as the Circa beauties.

I guess I'll have to DIY it until Levenger carries it.

I was upset at the thought of Circa steno pads

I have a left-handed friend who wants a top-bound Circa because she says the binding of normal notebooks gets in her way. I had made a really nice looking top-bound notebook for her that I was saving for Christmas.

I was upset when I saw that it seemed Levenger was going to spoil it for me by selling their own before Christmas. If I didn't give it to her at Christmas, I would have wasted 240 sheets of Ampad paper and one of my sets of Circa covers that I chopped up. If I did give it to her at Christmas, I'm sure she would have thought I'd cheaped out by making one instead of buying one - and she probably would have bought one from Circa by then, anyway.

I decided I'd just send her the one I made now. If Levenger isn't releasing one and I just imagined that somehow, I wasted the opportunity to have a really nice Christmas gift. I'll have to think of something else.

Did you check...

your browser's history ?
You may be able to re-locate that page.

I only keep my history for about 24 hours

To save space, you know. I'm sure I saw a listing for a steno pad for $20 and a listing for refills for $12. There was a box beside each saying no photo was available, and the link took me back to the Levenger homepage when I clicked them. I saw them on the Circa notebook page and on the Circa refills page, respectively, a couple of times Tuesday morning. They disappeared, but I was able to do a search on "steno" and those entries both came up once, with the same action when I clicked. They eventually disappeared Tuesday morning, and searching on "steno" now gives you results for "seen".

Oh well. I've already mailed the notebook I made to my friend, so she'll be happy.

The one you made is probably better...

'cuz it was made with love ! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

(All together now) Awwwwwwwwwwwww !

I think so!

Anyway, it has prettier paper! I used Ampad paper, and I love that retro line of notebooks they have with the tan or ivory paper. It's heavy paper, too. Probably as heavy as the Levenger papers, but fairly cheap. It was under $10 for the three Ampad notebooks I scavanged for 240 sheets of paper.

Can't deny it

home-crafted is way better! I can honestly say - DIY stuff is always the best option!!! <3 She'll adore it and probably ask you for more ;)

Or I can tell her to buy a Circa punch

So she can punch her own papers. It takes a long time to punch 240 pages doing 3 at a time!

Levenger Steno - video demo

The new steno pad isn't on their website yet - but apparently it *is* in the stores. There's a video demo I found here

I wonder when its coming out on the web?

I'm calling Levenger in Chicago

ADS-3890 is the item number for the Circa Steno
The cost is $20

It does not show on the web page, but if you phone in and give them the item number, it DOES show up in their 'puters. (I called to be certain)

"It takes an Igor to get things done properly !!"

Thanks for the info, ygor!

I guess I made the right decision to go ahead and send it to her. She liked the one I made, and if she decides to get a Levenger one instead - then I'll never know!

That's our Ygor...

...and now possibly the first kid on the block
with the greatly-to-be-coveted Circa Steno!

But not the only one for long - thanks for the investigation!

Who said I was buying one ?

I enjoy the thrill of the hunt, but usually "catch and release".
I do not use Steno type pads/notebooks for other than throwaway notes, so a Circa Steno would be an extravagance to me.
I am just pleased to be of help to this community.

Circa Steno Video Review

As mentioned by another in this thread, I have a Circa Steno and have posted a video review, see it here:

Video Review: Levenger Circa Steno

I too saw a placeholder on the Levenger website and saw it "disappear" within a couple of days. I had my friend who was traveling through Chicago check at the Marshall Fields (no, I will not call it by it's other name) store-within-a-store downtown and sure enough, they had them.

Not sure when they will be available on the site but, due to the leak, I would expect soon.

Thanks so much for sharing...

... your video demo - I, for one, thought it was great :-)

great review

Nice job on the review. I have never been much of a steno pad user although it looks interesting and may be a new product I try in the future. What would be nice is for them to make a circa jacket which can use not only a regulat circa notebook but also a steno book in the back maybe with smaller rings like their 1/4" ones so it doesnt take up too much space. That would be ideal for me.
