Franklin Covey clearance sale...

If you go to and click on Clearance, you'll find various bags, totes, binders, and folios on sale. There are some great deals.

There's a camo nylon zipper binder for Classic size (3 ring) for $7.99.
A camo zipper portfolio (8.5" x 11") with pad for $9.99.
A leather PDA case with belt clip for $9.99 (I bought two of these).
Some wirebound planner covers which may fit a Circa notebook (I bought a Cortona large wireless leather cover and it fit the Junior size perfectly - listed for $40, they charged me $15)
A nylon gear bag (Sport Bag) for $9.99.

Looks like some of it was from their GSA catalog for military purchase. If you don't mind camo, you could score some good deals.

I'm making a second order for some of the stuff I listed. :-)

So, check it out!

Cortona at Franklin Covey

I saw the wirebound Cortona large cover but it is listed at 39.99 and I saw no discount unless you buy three nad a fourth is for $1. I looked under the Clearance link.

"To fly, we must have resistance."

Despite appearances, it was $14.99!

The website said $39.99 when I ordered it too. Then, when I received it, the packing slip said $14.99 and my credit card transaction confirmed that they charged me $14.99 instead of $39.99. Yet, for other items in the clearance section, they list the actual clearance price. Why the inconsistency? Let's say I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the bill. :-)

It might be worth giving customer service a call and getting them to confirm it.

From FC Customer Service

I did a live chat with an FC customer service rep. I can't say the response was completely satisfactory, so YMMV. Good luck.

I asked why wasn't the clearance price on the Cortona not listed on the website?
Please wait for a representative to respond.
Thank you for contacting FranklinCovey. My name is Ruby. I am reviewing your question and will be right with you.
Ruby: Hi Walter .
Walter: Hi Ruby.
Ruby: The clearance price for the Cortona Large Wire-Bound Cover is $35.96 .
Walter: Hmm.. I guess I lucked out. I bought this cover in brown several weeks ago. It was listed at $39.95, but when I got the packing slip, FC had charged only $14.99 - the credit card report confirmed that. I thank you for the deal, but FC should list the actual clearance price on the website. That would encourage more people to buy.
Ruby: I truly apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
Ruby: I would request you to post your views on as these are read by the senior officials of our organization and we try to improve our services accordingly.
Walter: Ruby, I was not inconvenienced by the great deal I got at all! However, I will do as you suggest. Thanks.
Ruby: Thank you.
Ruby: I truly appreciate your time and kind co-operation.
Ruby: Thank you for visiting Have a pleasant day ahead.
Ruby: Bye and take care.

Real person?

As I read this I kept wondering if you were talking to a real person, or an automated response machine. Could you tell? Did you hear any gears grinding?

Who can be sure?

Gears grinding? Dunno. It would be hilarious if it was some AI answering the questions. It does look like she's following a script. :-)

Upcharge coming?

You might watch your credit card account to see if they charge you for the remainder, thus taking care of your inconvenience. :-)
