Has anyone used Booklet Creator Website?

Somewhere I found a link to the Booklet Creator website. I'm wondering if anyone here has used it.

BookletCreator - is a free online tool that allows to create a booklet from a PDF document. It reorders pages so that after printing and folding the pages you get a small book.

I'd just go ahead and try it out but I'm trying not to waste ink or paper and it's going to be a hassle with my printer as it curls the paper and I have to weigh the paper down for a day before I run it through a second time.

Why waste time there when it is available here ?

Intimidation factor

I remember these threads but Multivalent seems complicated. I guess the word "valent" reminds me of chemistry class and awakens memories of smelly chemicals and smoking flasks and labs where the guys took over and had all the fun and I had to practically invent the lab reports I recorded and turned in. I've worked so hard to bury these memories.

This seems like it might be easier. (Wimp factor -- I cringe!) I guess this web site does the same thing, but automatically, without the need for thought. Or chemistry.

If your paper curls...

Check to see if your printer has a door in the rear so that the paper doesn't get wrapped around a roller to send it back out the front of the printer. Most do, so that you can run card stock through without it curling.

Good Idea!

I was very hopeful about opening the back of the printer, but my printer (a Brother) won't print with the back open. Will try using another printer that doesn't curl.

I just gave it a test with a 2009 calendar done in Ygor's 2-pages per month.

It's easy to use and seems nice...but it won't let me insert a blank page at the beginning which is needed to have the pages line up properly, so I don't think it will be useful without a pdf editor.

The way I've done it in the past is cutting the paper first but that is a slower, more tedious process and doubles the effect on my page count ;).

I agree that multivalent does look pretty cumbersome, but I have very bad memories of java back in the version 1 days and really don't want to go through the hair-pulling of what I remember it was like to set up a run-time environment.

Use a cover page

like in the examples

To add a cover page, don't

To add a cover page, don't the examples use multivalent which requires a java install?

Yes

Multivalent needs Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
JRE is necessary for anything to run in Java on your 'puter

This is not the same as Java Software Development Kit (SDK) which is what you need to program/develop in Java
