Rollabind's Junior the same size as Circa's Junior?

I started using Circa notebooks as a college freshman, and I've continued to use them at work and now in graduate school. However, I've only ever used the letter size. I've recently decided to use Circa for some personal projects, but the letter size seemed too large. I saw a Rolla Junior notebook at a Staples recently and (used as I am to the Circa prices) snapped it up.

Of course, I love it, so I chopped up some letter-sized paper and went a-smurfin'.

Problem is, the new 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 paper is too big for the Rolla notebook! I've measured the Rolla junior paper and it a quarter-inch shorter than what I thought it would be. Unfortunately, the covers are also 8 1/4 tall, so the longer paper is really unattractive.

This wouldn't bother me, except my plan was to treat myself to a nice, leather Circa junior when I got a teaching promotion next year and I want my notes to transfer neatly.

So does anyone know if the Circa junior is the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 advertised, or does it also run short?

Circa Junior was not always the same as FC Classic

Have a look at this thread:

Your notebook probably pre-dates this change.
Is it a leather notebook or do you just need new plastic covers ?

Thanks for the thread link.

Thanks for the thread link. I'd been aware that Levenger had phased out the Classic Circa and re-sized their Junior. I'd just figured that Rollabind would have followed suit, particularly as they're targeting a more mass-market, DIY-friendly demographic.

My notebook was (just returned it) a new Rolla junior. It had a vinyl cover that looked very much like the Levenger leather foldover covers. It was just...squishier. And the texture was...off.

But it was six dollars.

I'll probably pick up some Circa plastic covers with my next Levenger order and DIY something to work until then.

OK, I missed some detail...

Now I understand your confusion. It's over the Rolla notebook. One of my frustrations about Rollabind is non-standard paper sizes. Suggestion: If you have a Franklin-Covey store near you, go in there and get a cover with discs - they are on sale ! Link

As a matter of fact, ALL the Rollabind stuff at FC is on sale ! Grab it quick ! It may be disappearing !

Ygor's link is helpful...

So is having a Circa Junior notebook in front of me. I measured and mine is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 -- it is not short. I have the leather zip around and it fits the advertised size, and all the DIY pages that I'm using.

If you're curious, the plastic cover is 6 x 8 1/2.

Thanks for the measurements!

Thanks for the measurements! I was concerned because the Rolla notebook had its measurements listed as 8 1/2 x 5, when the book itself was 8 1/4 x 6 and the paper was 8 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Ugh.
