Died and gone to heaven!!

Oh my...I think I am in heaven by finding this site! Every year, around this time, I start having angst over what planner to get for the coming year. I own every brand, every size, every form, every checklist, and every accessory made, and NONE of them work for me. Very frustrating. I've also read (I think) every time management book on the market. Still nothing.

When I read David Allen's GTD, I started to feel hope. It's not complicated (except for the mind dump to the inbox, which scares me because it feels like it will take forever) and it utilizes simple tools like a notebook, calendar and pen.

The challenge was in finding planner pages that had the right amount of space for writing appointments and listed times for time-specific entries, but not so much space that there was no room to write "to dos".

On a whim, I googled "diy planner" just to see if there were templates where I could print out my own. And, look at what I found! A huge supply...that corresponds with GTD...and tons of helpful, friendly, creative people available to answer questions!

I think I'm in love!!

It's a Great Place, Isn't It?

I love this web site. This is one of the primary places I come to on the web, lately on a daily basis.

There is so much going on, just in terms of getting ideas for planners, how to use them, what to put in them. I feed off of other's ideas here.

I never would have thought that you should sit down and think about how you work and what you do in relation to a planner. After reading the series of articles on how to put a diyplanner together, I have been monitoring myself for over 6 weeks to see how I really use a planner. By the time my Levenger punch arrives (end of October) I am confident that I will know what forms to use (and not use)and more importantly how I use them and how many I need to carry with me.

So Welcome Aboard!

It really is a marvelous thing, isn't it?

I refused to even use a planner because I could never find what I wanted. It never occurred to me to make my own until I found this site. Now I diy pretty much everything as far as paper and organization are concerned.

Welcome to the paper geek's wonderland. :^)
