Any ideas on how to cover/change a monogram on a leather Levenger folio?

I bought a leather folio on ebay for cheap because it was monogrammed. Does anyone have any ideas on how to cover it? I love the folio but not the monogram, but it cost me $20 vs. $88, was too hard for me to justify the non-outlet price at this time.

Pictures ?

I am guessing the monogramming is pressed into the leather.
Got any leather embossing tools ? Link

It is pressed into the leather.

I don't have a picture (my camera is on the fritz) but this listing http://cgi.ebay.com/LEVENGER-SAMPLE-FOLIO-JUNIOR-MEDIUM-SMAL... has the same monogram and is the same color. The difference is mine zips up, is bigger and has 3x5 slots on the inside. I don't have embossing tools but my father in law may . . . I'll have to ask. He has a ton of strange tools.

I would ignore it

unless it says something rude

Brass?

How about getting a nice, thin, self-adhesive brass plaque with your OWN initials on it?

I think it would look very nice - I have seen (and had) such plaques on leather planners before - just make sure it is large enough to cover the embossed monogram.

Brilliant!!

Thank you so much! I have seen brass plates on planners with the makers name on them but thought they had specially been put on, didn't realize I could buy them separate. This will work perfectly. Thanks!

Interesting turn of events...

Well, in an interesting turn of events, I find myself in the process of purchasing a graphic design & engraving business. So after having suggested the above solution to fairydustwings, I'm hoping to be able to offer exactly that service to all of you who need it! Stay tuned in the coming weeks and I'll let you know in more detail (or you can contact me directly).

Wow Great Idea!

Thanks folks! I had looked at the levenger notebooks on eBay, but was not buying one because of the monograms. Now I have no excuse...! Hehehe.

Ebay has nice cheap brass plates

I found a bunch of ebay sellers that sell brass plates for under $5 shipped. Just thought I'd let you know.

like this?

Never shopped at either of this. Just Googled quickly.

Thanks!!

I appreciate your help! I'm so excited : )

I did the brass plate option...

I had ebay seller "tajave" do two brass plates to cover up Levenger monogramming.

The work was fine, but I replaced his double-sided back tape strip with some of my own to cover the entire backside of the plate for a better stick.

It was a good, inexpensive way of covering the monogram, with the benefit of adding a nice looking personal touch.
