Letter-sized Circa 2010 refills sold out, now what?

This year I decided to up-size to the letter-sized Circa planner and received a leather letter-sized notebook cover, and the desk punch for Christmas. Unfortunately, when I went to the Levenger store to buy the letter sized calendar refills after the holidays, they were sold out. I was told that they would be getting more in, but then today I was told by both the store and a customer service representative at their 1-800 number that they will not be printing any more of their letter sized 2010 refills.

Is this normal for Levenger? I bought last year's planner used online so this is the first time I've had to buy refills. Now I'm wondering if I should stay with Circa because it seems a little ridiculous to me that the company is done selling their 2010 letter-sized refills when it's only 2 weeks into January. It seems to me that they really don't have a handle on customer demand or needs.

I may print planner sheets from the templates on this site, but I switched to Circa to save time, not spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to buy/print planner sheets. Any suggestions or thoughts out there?

An observation

Compare the time it would take to print your own out from this site's resources versus the time you have spent trying to buy it from Levenger's.

I second that,ygor

I have yet to find commercially available planners, inserts, forms, or what have you that fully meet what I need them to do. I live in the heart of CoveyFranklin country and even then it is a pain to go to their store and get what I need or at least a close approximation of it. With the templates from DIYP I can print off what I need immediately and in the quantity I need (usually just a few). I can modify many of them in OpenOffice if I need to, but the variety and diversity on DIYP makes that rare. For someone who has little patience for online order delivery of 5-8 business days, DIYP is perfect.

Same here

I have been watching this site for a couple of years.

I got tired of vacillating between junior/A5 and letter/A4, disk versus ring binding, full digital, half digital/analogue or full analogue and pre printed pages unsuitable for my needs.

Last year, I really made an effort to find out what really worked for me.

This one is D.I.Y.P year.

When somebody finds a perfect or flexible enough planner pages to maximize fun times, manage hectic times and everything in between.

It feels great!

Planners are like diets

There is no single perfect one that fits everyone's need.

I think that is a big part of the community value. We do not try to sell you on ONE planner. We offer you the pieces and the ideas to make one that fits your needs.

ebay or enjoy varity

The planners come up on the levenger outlet on ebay once in a while.

One advantage in printing your own is the flexibility. New forms and formats come out all the time here, plus there are amazing vintage forms in the template section here. You can try a new format each week, each month, or as the mood strikes.

That really is quite pathetic business practice. 2 weeks into the year and no refills available!

Obviously Levenger is expecting no one to swap to their letter sized system between now and 1 Jan 2011. And no one is going to have an accident (eg spill coffee on their letter sized planner) and need a new refill this year.

I'd expect that of a company that provides cheap products but not of a more 'up market' company.

This just reinforces to me why I made the right choice and ignored circa as a planning option.

P.S. Wildlifeanna - if I were in your place, I'd buy a commercial ring refill (eg Filofax, Dayrunner, etc), take it to the Levenger store and demand that they punch it for your planner as you can not get a refill from them. Nothing gets action like showing that you will walk to a competitor.

Several on eBay right now

The Levenger outlet has several of the 2010 refills in letter size on eBay right now. I'd post the links, but I'm afraid they'd get marked as spam. Just search for "Levenger circa 2010".

Yes, but...

They are all auctions, none of them are "Buy It Now" items.
You will have to fight for them.
Better to DIY !
