I dunno. Seems like they are shooting in the dark.
Why have a bunch of reusable cards, each with one task on it when I can do all that on one disposable card ? Or better yet, one reusable dry-erase card ?

I agree

Seems like a waste of a whole card.

An idea: Since some cards are left blank, one could write the most important task for the day in centre box to highlight it.

Perhaps this would work well for those who use the slip method, but they usually use smaller pieces (slips) of paper. I knew someone who used a sticky version of the slip method (the method didn't have a name back then). When I asked why she didn't write her to-dos all on one piece of paper, she said that seeing things crossed off (ticked, etc.) offended her. She preferred to just throw the piece of paper away after the task was completed.

To each his own.

Gee, I like checked-off lists

Few things more satisfying that a done to-do list.

--- and y'all keep your dirty minds to yourself !
Yes, I can think of one or two things that are more satisfying, but then this is not an adults-only forum.

Eh em . . .

That would be center box.

Bugged me so much, I couldn't wait for the post to become editable.

[edit] Actually that post didn't become editable, but this one did right away. Maybe I didn't notice? Does the edit feature go away after a while?

"Centre" is an acceptable spelling

Don't let the neighbour's opinions dim the lustre or fade the colour your actions !

Best repeat task memory jogging mechanism?

This mindjogger doesn't seem v efficient or organized.. I agree. But anyone has any thoughts on what would be a good and streamlined way to jog the mind for repeat tasks without getting into elaborate charts and almost in an autopilot way.. I have been thinking about segregating home
repeat tasks from @work and @outside repeat tasks. Think one chklist bifurcated into weekly and monthly should be there in the car, one at home and one at work.. Rather than all in the planner.. But still doesn't seem streamlined enuf

How about...

tatoos on the inside of the forearm ?
You could "test-drive" the idea by using a Sharpie !

just kidding, folks ! >:D

I don't know anything about the above company, but I've seen the product at Borders as well.

I think it's cool.

Well, Ygor? Your wish . . . .

Back home we have a saying: "True things pass in jokes." It's usually meant to suggest that people tell you things in jokes that they really mean but wouldn't say seriously to your face, but I think it works well in this case too.

Oh, yes

I have seen those. No wonder the idea popped right up.
:p

I used to write things on

I used to write things on the top of my hand all the time. Now that I'm fanatical about keeping a jotter with index cards on me, I don't do it nearly as much.

lol. I had trouble getting

lol. I had trouble getting off the ink from my hand from just normal writing. For some reason, ink got on clothing, etc. I chewed pens, that may be why. Flicked them too.

A tickler

One of the best mind joggers I've seen is a tickler. It doesn't matter what variation you choose. Mine is integrated into my planner because otherwise I forget to check it. If you can find a variation that works for you, it will not fail.

I think that's what's wrong with this Mind Jogger. It doesn't work well as it's own system but needs to be integrated into an existing system. I wouldn't mind one task per card in the case of a tickler. But a stack of one task per card? Seems senseless to me.

I also find that at times I prefer to simply rewrite/reschedule repeating tasks. Some people don't like to rewrite, but I find it helps my memory. "The pen aids the mind."

How to laminate a index card

How to laminate a index card for this, at home?

Go to Staples or OfficeDepot dot com...

...and type "laminating" in the search box.

There are two types of home laminating:

  1. Cold - essentially clear ConTact paper
  2. Hot - plastic sheets that go on either side of your paper and then get fed thru hot rollers.

Enjoy
