Getting the Dynamic engine to make two 5 x 8's per page

What am I doing wrong? Yesterday I constructed a note sheet in classic size to print 2 to a page of 8.5 x 11" paper. When I click print, the Adobe Reader's Preview:Composite window shows both pages in the small previewer window and Page Scaling shows 'Multiple pages per sheet'. Today trying to make another of the same sheet only puts one on a page. What is the setting that forces 2 to a page?

How did you do that ?
Using what software tools ?

I'm using the Dynamic Template .exe from this site. When I make a PDF with that tool today Acrobat only puts one classic note sheet on a 8.5 x 11" page when I click print in Acrobat. My original message has the details. Main question: how to make a classic size template go two to a U.S. letter-size sheet when it's time to print. For me sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't and I can't pin down the difference.

This is an Adobe Reader problem

The Dynamic Templates, which I wrote, creates multi-page PDF files.
If you then print those PDF's onto the paper size you specified, there is no problem.
Trying to do n-up printing, called "imposition" in the printing trade, has been a task that has long been pounded into submission on this site. There are several ways to do it. The following info is on the same page as the application download:

We have figured out how to arrange and rearrange PDF's for double-sided (duplex) printing:

Dynamic Templates and Multivalent: Example 2 - A 2 year classic booklet

Adobe Reader has the ability to print multiple pages per sheet, and it has a "booklet mode" that does the same thing in a slightly different manner -- mostly regarding page order.
Personally, I do not care for the way Adobe Reader sizes the pages on the sheet, so I use the method descriped in the links above.

A-dopie Reader problem :-)

Must be Adobe's bugs. One day, a classic lined note page goes two to an 8.5" x 11" sheet per the Adobe 'Multiple pages per sheet' being checked in the print window, the next day a classic grid note page will only print one to a page, even though 'Multiple pages per sheet' is checked.

Yup. A-Dopey Reader :)

Surprisingly, there is very little software out there that does imposition that is controllable by the user. Most is pre-set stuff like A-Dopey's Multiple Pages/Booklet modes.
