Suitable for printing as an A4 page, or scaling down to other sizes for any folder or Filofax

Not many countries require licensed amateur radio enthusiasts keep a log book of their operations, but it's great to look back over previous contacts and I've found this page useful for jogging my memory for peoples names

Weekly Pick: The Art of Letter Writing
Submitted by dougj on Thu, 2009-04-23 01:19.In these days of Twitter, texting and five-second Facebook comments, it seems as though there's also a bit of a backlash against "quick and dirty" digital correspondence. Many find that the humanity seems to be missing, and so on the bookstore shelves can now be found scores of books on hand-written notes, love letters, travelogues, greeting cards, and --above all-- honest-to-goodness pen-and-ink letter writing. There's a renaissance afoot.
So for this week's pick (actually our very first weekly pick) we'd like to highlight a thought-provoking article from The Art of Manliless by Brett and Kate McKay entitled The Art of Letter Writing, an overview of tools, expression, style and etiquette:
[...] But when it comes to sharing one’s true thoughts, sincere sympathies, ardent love, and deepest gratitude, words traveling along an invisible superhighway will never suffice. Why?
Because sending a letter is the next best thing to showing up personally at someone’s door. Ink from your pen touches the stationary, your fingers touch the paper, your saliva seals the envelope. Something tangible from your world travels through machines and hands, and deposits itself in another’s mailbox. Your letter is then carried inside as an invited guest. The paper that was sitting on your desk, now sits on another’s. The recipient handles the paper that you handled. Letters create a connection that modern, impersonal forms of communication will never approach.

Correspondence Tracker
Submitted by Rocket Jones on Sun, 2008-08-03 02:25.I created this vertical 3x5 card to keep track of information about my pen pals. The top section is for the snail mail address, the middle section is for notes about the person, and the bottom section can tell you at a glance when you sent or received the last letter. I leave the back blank for extra notes.

There's not much room on a 3x5, so in order to get full-size printing on my printer I have to print these to classic sized paper (two per sheet) and then cut them to size. There's just enough margin on the left side for circa if you want that.
I've included both Open Office and Adobe .pdf versions.
Garden Planting List
Submitted by cactus-bob on Wed, 2008-02-13 01:25.This is a Classic size template for utilizing the Square Foot Gardening method. If your not familiar with it go to www.squarefootgardening.com and check it out. This template will help plan and setup one 4X4 plot. Use multiple pages for more plots. The folks at Square Foot Gardening have given me their permission to post this here under the Creative Commons License. Hope this helps someone out.

Used to plan out a Square Foot Garden plot. Decide what you want to plant, find out if that plant has any likes or dislikes with other plants. check Wikipedia for one list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companion_plants), determine the spacing needed and then lay it out in the grid on the bottom. Once everything is placed where you want it take it out and start planting.
Song Tracker
Submitted by sporter on Wed, 2007-12-05 21:45.This template is for musicians who are working on new tunes and often play with different bands. It helps track new songs and when they can be checked off as "off the page." I often lose songs because they don't get off the page and into my head and then I forget I worked on them. There is space for notes about the song, room to write the info about the musical group (like lead player's phone number)and ideas that are not quite incorporated into "groupthink." Enjoy! Ideas are welcome!
It is Classic size now but I really want it to be adaptable for 3x5 index cards that are printed vertically. Ideas?
Dive Log
Submitted by david4286 on Sat, 2007-09-29 23:32.I needed new pages for my dive log and rather than buy some overpriced pages printed on paper that is nearly impossible to write on, I decided to make my own. The log has space for a dive profile, some summary information, comments, your cumulative bottom time, and a verification signature.

Print, punch and use just like your normal dive log. This template only has a simple single level dive profile on it, I may get around to creating one with a multi-level profile one of these days but since I don't have the equipment to do those calculations it's not super high on my to-do list.
