4.25 x 6.75 Covey Compact Size calendar

4.25 x 6.75 Covey Compact size
Month at top of page with weekdays at bottom.
Can change and edit in Open Office. My first one.
I don't know how to do a thumnail so .pdf is included for quick look.

Paper size:
Other
Usage advice:

I know it is a waste of paper, but my knowledge doesn't extend to 2-up. I print using a letter size piece of paper and then lay a Covey compact sheet on top at left-top position, draw around two sides and cut out and punch.

7 Habits Weekly Planner (PDF/Numbers)

I was going through my copy of 7 Habits and noticed that the book mentioned that a copy of the Franklin Covey Weekly Habits Planner was available at their site. No such copy was available online so I decided to create my own.

This template provides a weekly dashboard for assisting you to not only get stuff done, but to help you do the right stuff. It should prove useful to anyone working to improve their productivity using Covey's acclaimed 7 Habits system.

Paper size:
Letter

Usage advice:

Using the PDF Reader of your choice specify the fit to page option to ensure the entire worksheet is printed.

I have also included the original Numbers (iWork '08) file for your tweaking.

[admin add-on]: BobH kindly contributed a Word copy of the template at the request of forum members.

Doane Paper Style Notecard

Doane paper (available at doanepaper.com) is the perfect fusion of note paper and graph paper. I have been using Doane Paper for most of my note taking for the past year, as have many people around the web. Of course, we can't always have a letter-sized pad handy at all times. So I set out to create a note card sized version of Doane Paper.

This note card has lines every quarter of an inch (allowing generous writing space) and grid lines every eighth of an inch. The result is a single notecard that is both a lined note card and a graph paper note card.

Finally, this card features a 1/8" margin all the way around the card, allowing for a markings to the side of your writing/drawing.

Paper size:
Index Card (3 x 5)
Thumbnail:
doaneStyleCard.png
Usage advice:

This note card is best printed using a color printer. I have posted a one up version of this card.

The writing lines are perfect for note taking and the grid lines make it easy to draw other forms, or just keep everything lined up.

One Page Per Day w/Notes

This is my letter sized one page per day template. I don't have so many appointments that I need a whole page for them, nor do I have so many notes that I need a whole page for them (generally).

Paper size:
Letter
Usage advice:

Print page 1 on the front of a letter sized sheet and page 2 on the back. Page 3 appeared when I converted it to a pdf from MS Word and has nothing on it.

Costume Details Reference Sheet

My daughter is a costumer for theaters, and she uses this sheet at the beginning of each show to take all the relevant measurements for each character/actor. Some of the items might seem odd, until you remember that sometimes a female plays a male character and vice versa.

The bottom part of the form tracks who did what alterations, repairs, etc.

At the end of the show, she files the form and builds up her library for future reference.

(Almost) 24-hour diabetes tracking log

24-hour (almost) diabetes log for tracking glucose, carbs, meds, and exercise. MS Word and pdf files included.

Paper size:
Letter
Thumbnail:
24HrLog.jpg
Usage advice:

I omitted a few of the night-time hours so it would fit onto one page.

The far right column is for averages and totals.

I recently started taking insulin shots so wanted to stop focusing on the exact time of glucose readings and see the patterns. Am hoping this will help.

There are lots of logs posted on the internet and this is adapted from one I found at a University of California-San Francisco site.

Reference Template with Alphabet, Conversions and Time Conversion

I created a little template for the back cover of my Hipster PDA which includes all sorts of messy metric-english and english-english conversions that mess me up.

The graphic is for Gallon-Quart-Pint-Cup conversions. It was too pretty to leave out.

I also included a Radio Alphabet and time conversion for different time zones. As you might guess, I am hoping to take a trip to China next year so a lot of this reference card was done with that in mind.

btw, 1 acre = 43,560 sq ft (I happen to know this by heart so I didn't include it).

And note that the Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion is not exact, but its something you can do quickly in your head.

Index Card (3 x 5)

Usage advice:

It should be pretty straightforward, a one page file, just open up the .doc and edit away!

PS I also plan to hand draw some lines to make the template a quick ruler, but I couldn't figure out how print borderless in Word.

College Map & Schedule

This is just a fairly quick form I put together to keep track of my college information, including a campus map, course schedule, and professors' contact information on one sheet. ODG and PDF files.

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)
Thumbnail:
prev.JPG
Usage advice:

This is my first template, but I'm almost positive I got all of the bugs out of it. I couldn't find anything similar, so I made my own. There must be other students here that this could be useful to.

PDF: The first page is a map of my campus, so it isn't going to be of much use unless you attend Oklahoma State. Page 2, however, isn't campus specific. I've posted the pdf so those of you who don't have OOo can still use the course information sheet.

ODG: Obviously, you can and should replace the map of my campus with a map of yours. In fact, edit and chop to your hearts content. As long as there's no profit being made, I don't particularly care. If you change this into something new and interesting, I would like to see it though!

Working to get my grocery shopping under control to keep the budget down, we are switching over to doing menu planning, weekly at first.

I whipped up this this weekend to help me out, and to make it look like the rest of my planner.

Correspondence Tracker

I created this vertical 3x5 card to keep track of information about my pen pals. The top section is for the snail mail address, the middle section is for notes about the person, and the bottom section can tell you at a glance when you sent or received the last letter. I leave the back blank for extra notes.

Paper size:
Index Card (3 x 5)
Thumbnail:
ted-work-3x5.png
Usage advice:

There's not much room on a 3x5, so in order to get full-size printing on my printer I have to print these to classic sized paper (two per sheet) and then cut them to size. There's just enough margin on the left side for circa if you want that.

I've included both Open Office and Adobe .pdf versions.

2008 and 2009 Week at a View Planner

This is a Word document, Classic page size, one week per page, Monday start.

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)
Thumbnail:
PlannerThumbnail.jpg
Usage advice:

It's in table format, with the days going down the page.

The dates and the lines (between the cell borders) are set to print in 70% gray as I don't like the strong contrast between the paper and full black. Also it doesn't show through to the other side of the paper. But this is editable in Word by changing the font color.

I set margins to .3 inches and print two pages to a sheet, cut the pages apart, and have the book spiral bound with extra pages and some photos, an envelope, etc.

I have the weekly calendar page on the left and the right-hand side (the back of next week) is left blank for notes. You could put the weekly calendar on the right if you prefer. If you don't need the note space you could print duplex. There are also lined notes pages at the end of the file that you could print onto the back of the calendar if you like the lines.

If you have it spiral bound you can get plastic covers bound in. With the normal plastic covers Office Depot has, the covers start getting ragged (corners break off, etc) around August. It's better to take some scrapbook paper or a photo to use as the front and back cover, and have them laminated before binding.

There are several planning pages at the end of the file for future years.

There is some word art (the word "Holiday") at the official holidays when banks and post offices are closed. You can delete this if desired -- it's all editable.

Email me or leave a comment if you have any questions. I hope it's useful, if for nothing else than a starting point.

Doodle-A-Day

Why not record your month in doodles? Anything goes!

Paper size:
Multiple Sizes
Usage advice:

Doodle something in each box - share at the end of the month with other DIYPlanner fanatics!

Hello !, Ygor here. With Sara's kind permission, I am adding to this template. I whipped up an Open Office Drawing of the 7 by 5 grid of round-cornered rectangles. They are grouped into a single object. The neato-nifty thing you can do with this is draw to ANY size paper. Just open the document, set your paper and margin size, and then just resize the group of rectangles to fit your page.

Meal and Grocery List Planning Sheet

Streamline your Meal & Grocery Planning

Usage advice:

Use this sheet to do a quickly jott down a list of Dinners, lunches, snacks, breakfast items you would like over the next few days and then use that list to generate your grocery list. I like to plan out my meals 3 days at a time and this sheet allows me to easily do a sweep of what I want to eat for the week and what I need to buy to make it happen.

Quick simple but very helpful.

I have used several of the templates I found here and thought I would return the favor. I created these for my notebook I carry at all times. I have included both the Excel workbook and the Pdf files.
