| Daily Schedule Planner | One of the tools I've used to manage my time is the Daily Planning Worksheet from PowerSystems, but it takes up too much space and has a lot of pieces I really don't use. The part I do use, and am most productive when I use it faithfully, is the schedule for the day. I reference my work calendar and my personal calendar - both online - to see what I need to do that day, as well as my "To Do" list and pencil them into the schedule. This may sound like extra work for some of you, but for me, the act of writing it down truly makes me aware of it in ways I'm not if I just rely on looking at my calendar on the computer screen and mentally planning out my day. I took the schedule concept and added my favorite concept from Leo Baubuta's "Zen to Done" philosophy - the Most Important Tasks. For me, this is where it gets really cool. Since I have been trying to have a paginated work journal (ala Dave Terry's Analog Work Journal) I wanted to integrate this into the pages, rather than having a whole separate page. I was able to fit 4 days on one letter-sized page then printed them on full-page labels and cut the sheet into quarters. Now, it doesn't matter how voluminous (or not) my notes were from yesterday as I just slap the label on the next open space in my work journal. The numbering stays consistent - and if there's a day I don't need one (i.e. I'm at a conference or in training all day) I can spare the space in my journal. I know there are a lot of folks who have worked to integrate their personal and work lives into planners, but I find I need to do just the opposite as I have too much integration as a telecommuter. I hope you enjoy it. I tried to keep true to DIY format, while adding a bit of color for my own enjoyment. t. Paper size: Letter Thumbnail: Usage advice: I used Avery white 5½ x 8½ shipping labels (Avery product #8126), but a full-sheet label would work just as well. | Monthly Tracker | This is a template I created to track repetitive tasks at work and/or at home. Paper size: Classic (5.5 x 8.5) Thumbnail: ![]() Usage advice: This form can be used repetitive action items. At the top is a short Notes/Description area that you can fill out. You may use this to track daily chores at home or if you are like me, I use it to track daily work reports. After the description, there is room to write the repeat tasks in list format and below that is a matrix that is 31 columns wide (use to track day of month) and 11 rows down (number of tasks in list). At some point, I may get rid of the Note/Desc section on top and try to squeeze 15 tasks per page. I print these double sided. I am currently tracking about 16 repeat tasks a day. I could probably think of more if I wanted. License: Creative Commons Language: English Applications required: Open Office

| 2009 Dated Weekly Calendar (2-up) French | One Year before, I found your site and used one of the calendar designed by one of your member and traduced into French by another. 2009 is nearly there. So this year I have updated this template for the coming year and I am happy to share this work with the DIY Planner Community. | Task-procedure flowchart | This is a basic task-procedure flowchart, commonly used in process analysis. Paper size: Classic (5.5 x 8.5) Thumbnail: ![]() Usage advice: Use this to detail the steps involved in a process task. For example, if you've made a swim-lane process flowchart, each item on the swim-lane chart could be futher defined by a task-procedure chart. The swim-lane chart defines the process; the task-procedure chart explains the process steps in detail. It should contain enough detail to suffice for training. The five symbols in the symbol column are: process, decision, transport, delay, and file/storage. | Phone Calls | When I check my voice mail I like to keep a running list of the people I need to call back as sometimes I don't do it right away. I took the "To Do" template from the Core D*I*Y list and made some modifications to be a little more specific to Phone Calls. This is a classic 2-up template and the first I have created. Paper size: Classic (5.5 x 8.5) Thumbnail: ![]() Usage advice: The 'who' and 'num' field are to indicate the called and a contact number. The 'note' field is a quick summary of their message. I like to indicate whether I have returned the call (check box near 'Called Back') as sometimes I leave a return voice mail, but I won't tick off the complete box until we connect. I put in a priority which can be used as a checkbox for a boolean sort of priority or could be used with a number scheme. The 'Called' field is intended for date and time. | DATED Week-to-page on the left, faced by notes, 2009 | I've received requests for a 2009 update of my diary and notes layout. Here it is, enabled by Doug Johnson's D*I*Y Planner Widget Kit 0.6 :) It's dated left-hand pages showing the whole week on the page, with an included right-hand generic lined page for notes. Here are dated pages for all of 2009. I decided not to include holidays, as everyone's home will have different ones. Write them in :D Versions for Classic and A5 are here, released under the Creative Commons By-NC-SA license, just like the Widget Kit. Thumbnail: ![]() Usage advice: PDFs contain an about page for reference, a generic lined page you can use for notes layed out for right-hand (odd) pages - or you can print in anything you like from the official templates or elsewhere, The rest of each file contains a series of dated, week-to-page left-handed pages to face your notes/to-dos/whatever. Select the page-range of the weekly pages and print them to your evens. Flip 'em however your printer needs, and print you choice of odd pages. Easy. | Chaos Contained: Large Integrated Planner | See your entire week at a glance and have all your lists and plans in one place. Great for families with children, elderly care, and college students. Everything is integrated, accessible, and visible. This planner is 8.5x11 because integration is more important to me than compactness. Additionally, my paper planner has never needed recharging and has survived being chewd on, dropped into a bowl of cake batter, and being backed over with the car. DH cannot say the same about his Palm. Paper size: Letter Thumbnail: ![]() Usage advice: Print each tab front and back, use a three hole punch, and place in a three ring binder. Make/buy tabs to stick on the sides of pages or use tab dividers to separate sections. I have other sections for food recipes, craft recipes/instructions, current projects, etc. Use sheet protecters if you need extra spill/slobber/etc. protection. Features: *Daily areas to track differing schedules for spouses, children, elderly care , pets, or various subjects--i.e. reading assignments, labs, etc. *Daily area for lunch and dinner planning, or use this area to track medications, diets, work, etc. *Area to plan evening activities, or any daily activities or daily needs. *Monthly page for special days and weekly to do lists, notes page *Areas on weekly page for shopping lists, daily to do tracker, notes, and special projects *Notes pages to print out *Household tab has a basic cleaning list, quick reference daily routine, reference for repeating schedules, and quick phone number reference *Good Behavior chart tracks behavior, chores, or other desired outcomes with grids sized for star stickers. *Reference sheet tracks the calendar year through 2016 You may use or freely distribute this template; do not sell it in any digital or printed format. | Weekly and monthly checklists (classic and compact) | Monthly and weekly checklists for things you do routinely. Both OOo Draw files and PDFs are here. There's probably a classic-sized form that does the same thing, but I wanted a compact (3.75" x 6.75") version with room for notes. | Weekly Intake and Exercise Log | Until now, I have been mentally tracking (crazy, I know!) my nutritional intake and activity levels. I used Jordan McGilvray's template "Meal Log" as a starting point and added some D*I*Y widgetry to arrive at this design. It tracks intake of water, vitamins, fruit, vegetable, and grain servings, and exercise. These items and the recommended servings were based on information from www.realage.com. Paper size: Classic (5.5 x 8.5) Thumbnail: Usage advice: Place a check in the boxes to indicate the goal was met. Modify shaded areas to adjust number of servings for your personal diet. Enter exercise freehand. Use the Notes section to note how you feel during the week or other wellness activities such as meditation. Print the template double-sided, cut it in half, and you have two weeks worth of forms. The template has annotations and white space outside of the print area, so I receive an error/dialogue box when I print. If this occurs for you, select the print option to "Trim" instead of "Shrink to Fit" so that everything lines up for punching on both sides.
