Teacher's Lesson Planner

A Lesson Planner for teachers (3x5).

Paper size:
Index Card (3 x 5)

Usage advice:

I've found this very handy for planning lessons on the go. I can jot down my objectives, make a few notes, briefly outline my lesson's structure, and list the things I'll need to make it all happen. Plus there's that handy box in the corner for the date or a tiny doodle.

Week Tracker (Mail Merge Document. I've included the date.xls file for it)

Paper size:
Letter
Usage advice:

I work in a 8.5 X 11 world, and while resizing the "classic" sized templates here is easy, I get left with way too much margin room. Tired of this, I created the attached files.

The Week Tracker is a Mail Merge document. Use the included "date.xls" file as the data source, and print out any week that you want.

I've left it in MSWord format because of the Mail Merge, and also because I don't want anyone to be stopped from doing all the customization they want.

Week Tracker

I've created this template to track my week in relation to the projects that I'm involved with. It includes Projected time, Actual time, a weekly review, and a place to list accomplishments from the week.

Paper size:
Letter
Usage advice:

I print this on one side of a sheet of paper, and on the other side print a weekly calendar. When 10's of these sheets are then put into a binder, you get to see your entire week at one glance.

Let's Do Lunch!

Coordinate lunch time with this handy template for offices and laboratories.

Paper size:
Letter
Usage advice:

Lunch time is one of the best times to chat about interesting ideas and get to know your colleagues. Interdisciplinary research is born when people rub elbows, and innovative ideas can emerge from lunch-time conversations and scribbled-on table napkins. Get together with your coworkers today!

Print out and laminate this lunch coordinator, then stick it on your refrigerator or whiteboard together with a dry-erase marker. Suggest some times and encourage people to write in their names and the time they plan to head out, heat up their lunch, or call for takeout.

Meal Planner Template

A template for planning out a week's worth of dinners.
Updated: Version 1.1 now includes pages that go from Sun-Sat and Mon-Sun.

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)
Thumbnail:
Usage advice:

At my house we sit down on Saturday and plan out the meals for the next week. What we cook can be based on who is able to cook on which evenings or who can setup the crock-pot in the morning.

We used to just scribble on a piece of paper, but this form has space for a mail course (and what cookbook it's in and which page it's on) a vegetable course, dessert and notes.

There is also a check list where you can note Special Ingredients to be put on your weekly shopping list.

DIY/GTD Teacher Kit

A set of 21 forms (all 2up) which should be of use to teachers who are implementing a GTD system on their work- and home life. Includes a number of GTD pages, plus school specific items (Dayplan, student records, anecdotals, etc.)

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)
Usage advice:

1. Today's NA (stuff to do today)
2. Class Checklist (ensure everything's handed in)
3. @ marking (remember what you need to mark, record, and return)
4. student records (record marks; take attendance)
5. communication (record communication with parents; file later)
6. anecdotal (keeping tabs/observations on a student; file later)
7. dayplan (self explanatory)
8. lesson planning (for actually planning/preparing for lessons)
9. @waiting on (2 kinds: one for borrowed stuff; one for work)
10. unit sequence (for recording what order things were done ... for next year purposes)
11. assorted GTD type pages with various self-explanatory contexts (@recon=errands ... it sounds more like what teachers do; @thinking about = someday/maybe ... has a more 'positive' sound to it)
12. A sheet of mini next action cards (to be sliced up and kept as a mini-hipster, for those times you don't have your little binder with you)

WW Points Log Version 2

This is more an update to the already great points log that's here. I've just changed the format so it's more like the points trackers that they give out at the meetings/weigh-ins. There is now a "Deposit" column for earned activity points and the weekly points allowance section is now numbered. I also really wanted to do a page 2 for the log as well as a 2-up version for easy printing.

This is a "from scratch" version of the log using the D*I*Y Planner Widget Kit and it couldn't have been easier. Thanks Doug, et. al. for a great system and a great site. I just went back to paper from a PalmOS device that I used for six frustrating years in various models - and I was a PalmOS application developer!

Client Time Log

Being an "Independent Contractor", whether by choice or necessity, demands a level of organization that most people would find daunting. I must confess I was initially a bit shaken. However, with the help of this website and a bit of research, I found that all of my fears could be calmed with a single index card.
This is my first submission. Be brutal! I crave honest feedback.

Hipster PDA Budget

Three-column table for keeping track of projected expenses and remaining budget

Paper size:
Index Card (3 x 5)
Thumbnail:
Usage advice:

You can use this to keep track of your budget: how much you've set aside and how much is left. Start by writing your total monthly income on the first row. You can use a pen to write your fixed expenses such as rent, but a pencil is better for writing variable expenses. Fill in the amount left so that you can avoid going over your budget. Update this card at the end of the day when you go through the receipts in your inbox. You can use the back of the card to keep track of transactions without receipts.

Landscape Letter Size

I'm working on designing letter size landscape scheduling pages for myself and others. I'm curious what people think of the initial designs, so included in this are the first 3 pages of the academic calendar, monthly calendar, and weekly calendar.

Japanese writing paper ("genkoyoushi" - adapted from incompetech.com)

Japanese writing paper (genkoyoushi), adapted from the page generated at Kevin MacLeod's Free Online Graph Paper/Grid Paper PDFs page.

With Kevin MacLeod's permission, I've adapted this Japanese writing paper (genkoyoushi) to ensure there's enough room for hole punching.

The 1-up file includes front and back for duplex printing on 5.5"x8.5" paper. Printing the 2-up file with a duplex printer requires that the printer be set to long-edge duplexing, as the first page is upside down with respect to the second.

With Kevin MacLeod's permission, I've adapted this hex graph paper to ensure there's enough room for hole punching. Use it to design wilderness adventures for RPGs, or maybe to depict bee dances. Really, very freeform.
