2007 One Month per Page

I needed a one month per page layout... but ran into some problems with printing since I wanted them duplex.

I'm sharing the solution here :o)

I used the marvelous free pdf calendars available here : SCIRAL .

I used Illustrator to reformat them and put them into the proper order. I allowed room for punching and the .25" margin that most printers require.

Simply print duplex, slice down the middle, punch and utilize.

Hope this helps someone. :o)

2007 Monthly PDA Portrait

I use these monthly pages in my Circa PDA. I circle the date where I have something planned, then on the bottom of the page I write the date in the box and what my plans are. This was the only way I had enough room to write the full appointment.

Migraine Headache Journal

If you suffer from headaches, the most useful thing for your doctor to help you diagnose it is a journal of the most recent instances. This form design was inspired by a pamphlet at a doctor's office, only this one gives you way more room to record things properly.

The form has columns to record the date, start & end time, the possible triggers, the symptoms and the treatment you tried. At the end of each page is a reminder of commons trigger sources for migraine type headaches. There is room for a lucky 13 headaches per page.

This is a classic sized page, with two pages on a single 8.5 x 11 (print and cut in half for two pages). This was created using Microsoft Excel, and printed to an Adobe PDF format.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, just a lifelong headache sufferer. Use at your own risk. Take two of these and call someone else in the morning.

Paper size:
Classic (5.5 x 8.5)

Usage advice:

When the headache first begins, record the time. Record what it feels like (pain in the forehead, back, all over, etc.). Look at the possible triggers list and try and remember exposure to any of those items in the past 24 hours.

In the treatment column, record any pills or other techniques you used to try and alleviate the pain. When the headache ends, write down the time.

Steno pad paper classic 2up

My husband (whom I hacked) requested that I make him a notebook in classic size with steno pad-type paper. I fiddled and fiddled with both MSWord and OOo and here is the result. He wanted it so there were no borders on the sides.

Acronym RACI stands for:

  • Responsible - This position is responsible that work is done (they are “doers”).
  • Accountable - position with responsibility and authority to approve/disapprove task or action
  • Consulted - person(s) who has to be consulted about task or action and who need to provide an input. They are “kept in the loop” by two-way communication.

Usage advice:

It can be used whenever there is a need to clearly define duties, for example to define responsibilities within project team, to define “as is” and “to be” states or to distinguish between duties of customer and supplier.

You can use this template to prepare a draft for responsibilities in a project, for example a barbecue.

WW Flex Point Tracker - Seven Days Across Two Facing Pages (Classic)

This template allows the user to track their daily points as well as daily water, oil, milk and fruit and vegetable intake. There is also a place for tracking weekly flex points and activity points.

The thing I like about this layout is that all seven days of the week are in view at one time with Days 1 through 4 on the left page and Days 5 through 7 on the right.

The downside is that the available space for notations is small as compared with WW's own tracker. The upside is that it fits right in my planner.

Enjoy!

hPDA: Choose your context w/ icons

The topic has been floating around on the forum and Sara posted a really nice collection of iconified 3x5s the other day. I thought that some people would prefer one card that could be used in all contexts. Here it is.

Choose your own context. Choose which icon means what. Just colour it or check it or whatever. If you use the other side, do the same with the arrow. I even left enough space at the top for the circa-fication.

Weekly Planner - one page small notebook

A simple one page per week planner page patterned after Moleskin's calendar. Week is on the left, blank on right for task listings.

Set for 3.75"x6.75" size six ring binders.

Paper size:
Other
Usage advice:

Keep it simple! This is the driving force of my planner -- when I saw the Moleskin layout (there is a similiar one at Filofax) with the calendar on the left page -- used for appointments (and birthday reminders); and the right page blank -- used for task listings and todos.

The Worksheet is set to input the first date of a two week period in the Monday box -- all other dates automatically increase by one. The month identifier is set based upon what month Wednesday is (an arbitrary decision).

I use blank pages from Daytimer because they have a non-annoying green bar background that helps me keep my writing on the level. I put the paper in upside down so it prints on the "back" of the paper, puting my calendar on the left.

There is space at the top of the week for any special focus -- next week says "Grandkids in Chico all week!" this week's has the reminder that one of my staff is on vacation all week.

Monthly calendar for future planning - small notebook

A one page 3.75" x 6.75" six ring monthly calendar. This is a companion to my weekly schedule page -- this is for months beyond the 3 months weekly pages I keep in my binder.

Paper size:
Other
Usage advice:

I use the monthly page in conjunction with my weekly pages. This simple Excel is designed to be printed on Daytimer Portable paper so it is designed two up.

The page has a calendar at the top, spaces for appointments below (I attempt to put appointments in approximate order, so I would put the 15th in the middle of the page, even if it is the first thing I write in).

The form has Monday as the first. It took me about 10 minutes to modify the form and print my 2008 calendar pages -- I clear the cells from Monday to whatever the first is, then also clear the "extra" days at the end of the month. I adjust the two calendar pages, print, while it is printing I adjust the next two months, print.... it is a quick process.

DATED Week-to-page on the left, faced by notes, a la Moleskine (2007 and 2008)

Inspired by the recent Moleskine diaries' layout, and enabled by Doug Johnson's D*I*Y Planner Widget Kit 0.6.

It's dated left-hand pages showing the whole week on the page, with an included right-hand generic lined page for notes.

Here are dated pages for July-December 2007 and for all of 2008.

I decided not to include holidays, as everyone's home will have different ones. Write them in :D

Versions for Classic and A5 are here, released under the Creative Commons By-NC-SA license, just like the Widget Kit.

Thumbnail:
wtv_n_0_1.png
Usage advice:

PDFs contain an about page for reference, a generic lined page you can use for notes layed out for right-hand (odd) pages - or you can print in anything you like from the official templates or elsewhere, The rest of each file contains a series of dated, week-to-page left-handed pages to face your notes/to-dos/whatever.

Select the page-range of the weekly pages and print them to your evens. Flip 'em however your printer needs, and print you choice of odd pages. Easy.

Weekly threat board

It may sound a little gung ho but some people are motivated by the idea of a 'threat board.' I'm sure I've read about something similar before called war boarding or suchlike. Its a simple matrix for post it projects and NAs/closed lists for those folks who like to keep a weather eye on the week ahead. Have fun with it!
